Almost a week ago we left wiarton and our friends at the green heart gardens farm to continue our journey. Our last night was so awesome. We went to a friends house at Georgian bay , where we swam in the lake with a beautiful, clear sky above us! It was like we were swimming in the sky, I've never had such a beautiful swim and after the cold lake we jumped into the hot tube :)
On Wednesday last week we had to get up at 5 in the morning to catch our bus to London. Yeah the really cool And hip London in Ontario :P
We arrived at 11 am and Angela, our host was already waiting for us. We had to drive half an hour out Of town to get to their farm. On the way she told us that they have cows, pigs , ducks and chicken and that they eat meat to every meal!!! Every Day and that they don't eat much vegetables even, she said, they should eat more ...since i'm a vegetarian my first thought was 'yoo how I 'm surviving two weeks here?'^^ but I told her and than we went grocery shopping. I don't feel bad, that they have to cook different stuff then they used to , cause so they eat more vegetables :D
When we arrived at the farm El, the friendly dog,( who we renamed to Jacob, cause she looks like Jacob the werewolf from twilight :D) welcomed us. Everything looked nice till we got into the house.^^ the decoration seemed nice and at the first sight it seemed cleaner than the other farm but then....dendendendeeeeen (xD) we came to our room and ja(now when I think back to this moment I don't want to go inside ^^) ... The room was horrible!!! Only two matrazes fit in it and the walls are covered with bookshelfs , which is nice since most if the books are fantasy, but they all lay under a layer of spiderwebs and dust! We thought it can't get worse but we haven't saw the bathroom yet. Again maybe 10.000 spiders were living in this room and they don't have a shower only a bathtube and in the whole house you can't lock the bathroom doors!!! Upstairs you'll find a shovel to lean on the door to close it!!yep yep.... Way to many shocks for one day :D
So our first thing to do was , cleaning our room and we did that voluntary. We washed the floor and released the room from the spiderwebs. Now every evening we kill about 5 spiders.
As we did that, I had my first doubts about wwoofing but now , couple of days later and almost in a routine , I really like it here. The room isn't so bad anymore and we only sleep In there. I haven't washed my hair in almost 4 days but hey, I never thought I would say it but, I don't care :D they have a hot tube and almost every evening we sit in the hot water and chillin after work ^^ so not having the opportunity to shower isn't so bad anymore xD
Angela and her husband Dan are nice people and the food , again ^^, is really good, and for me vegetarian ;) almost every night we have desert and omg never had such a good chocolate cake then here!!!
The work is nice but sometimes exhausting! Every day we have to feed the pigs and give the calves water. It's really fun although the one mother pig is a little scary. I already named one calve, which I think is bad cause soon they go to the butcher! But she's so beautiful xD We made the greenhouse ready to plant and the last two days we were picking sticks from the trees,which Dan and John, the son, cut down .
I think tomorrow we'll plant garlic.
Oh but the son, omg is like a giant pedo baby!!! He's 25 but looks like a 40 year old with a beard and he's fat and always walks around in underwear. Most of the time he sits in front if his computer ( he studied computer science ). But when he's coming downstairs , it's like a dependent baby. His mom brings him the food and he yells at her cause she stands only 5 seconds in front of the tv. Yesterday he was changing is pants in the dining room(!!!) and just left his stuff where he stood and the pant is still laying there!
But he's nice , most if the time he's ignoring us^^
Angela just told us , that we get 2 baby kitten at the weekend to bottle feed them!! I'm so excited....crazy cat lady inside me 😍we already have two 2 month old in the barn but these kitties stay with us in the house !
At the moment we're at a Tim hortons store in strathroy. We only go here cause of the free wifi :P
Next week we'll spend one night in Toronto(partying with our friend^^) and on the 14.09 we're flying to Winnipeg , where the next farm is.
So maybe I'll get free wifi before that and if I'll upload another blog
